Counsellor - Social Worker

Honours at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University

Kate is a psychotherapist and social worker with over 14 years’ experience working in the social services sector.

Kate completed a double degree in Arts and Social Sciences, with Honours at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University, specialising in gender-based studies.

She went on to complete her Masters of Social Work at Deakin University, specialising in critical social work practice, and has achieved Accredited Mental Health Social Worker status with the AASW.

Kate has particular expertise working with complex trauma, domestic, family and sexual abuse, BPD and attachment disorders. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is passionate about increasing access to this highly effective trauma treatment in her practice.

“I am passionate about supporting those who have experienced violence, providing a safe and supportive space to explore their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies. I have also pursued my passion for mental health by continually seeking to expand my knowledge and skills in this area, most recently completing my Graduate Diploma in Mental Health.”
